2007 will see major changes to the Wisconsin
galleries. From January through August the focus will be on the
The Art of the Panorama Painters who worked
in Milwaukee in the late 19th century, producing the leviathans of the art world.
Alongside this, The Way We Were: People, Places and Events uses interesting
juxtapositions of works in various media and shows how our world was recorded by
artists. Beginning in September, a recently restored and rare mural by acclaimed
regionalist, John Steuart Curry, will be unveiled for the first time in over 60
years.
Hallway Gallery
Origins of Modernism. On display will be
works revealing the extent to which Wisconsin artists were aware of, and responsive
to, modern trends in art during the early 20th century.
