Artist and art educator in Milwaukee for over 50 years.(1962-1984)
Born in Superior, Wisconsin, raised in Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Attended West Division High School, MIlwaukee, Wisconsin
World War II, Army Ranger, 42nd Rainbow Division, awarded Purple Heart, Bronze Star and other medals.
Promoter of the arts who was a teacher of art teachers, arts administrator and board member for many non-profit arts organizations
1929-2002, married to Cecile O'neil Anderson had four children: Janet Anderson, alan Anderson, Barbara Anderson (Ian Bedford) and Mark Anderson (Isabelle Kralj); grandchild, Lisa Taylor
1984, formally retired from working at Milwaukee Public Schools
2004, married Dianne Larson Anderson
Instrumental in creating, Art Satellite Program, Milwaukee Art Museum

Established specialized art schools, High School of the Arts, Middle School of the Arts, Elm Creative School and Lincoln Center for the Arts
1985,  because of these types of programs, Getty Center for Art Education selected Milwaukee as one of seven programs recognized nationwide for Outstanding innovative and comprehensive art curriculum.
