The Early Wisconsin Regional Art Collection was originally established to preserve
the rich heritage of Wisconsin art dating from the early 1800s through 1950. Currently,
we are striving to become Wisconsin’s Regional Art Museum and expand our collection
from early Native American works through the present.
At present our collection holds approximately 2000 Wisconsin works of art, including
about 170 long term loans and is supported by the Wisconsin Art Archives which contains
over 8000 files on Wisconsin artists and art related topics. The figure of 1800
contains about 1110 works on paper including 450 prints, 470 drawings, 115 watercolors
and about 75 large photographs.
