Dueling Designs in Spring Green
Saturday, May 20 | 7:30–7:30

Join MOWA on a trip to the small village of Spring Green, Wisconsin, famously known as the home of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The village boasts Wright’s Taliesin home and the local attraction The House on the Rock, designed by Alex Jordan, Jr. The House on the Rock, often mistaken for a Frank Lloyd Wright, was built after Jordan shared his own design with Wright, whom he openly admired.

Unfortunately, Wright hated it and told Jordan that he would not hire him to design even a chicken coop! Furious, Jordan built The House on the Rock mere miles from Wright’s home and opened it up as a tourist attraction. Join us as we visit both sites and compare and contrast the designs and aesthetics of the two architects.  Includes lunch and travel from MOWA
