MOWA holds the Wisconsin Artists Biennial every other year in the Hyde Gallery. The program is organized by the Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA), which serves as the state's oldest artist organization. Originally founded in 1900, this collaboration has a long and respected history that began in Louis Mayer’s studio. The Biennial is a competitive exhibition open to all artists living in Wisconsin.
