West Bend, WI---For Immediate Release--The Museum of Wisconsin Art continues to enlarge the size of its board in support of its new vision as a regional art museum. At its April 29th meeting at the Schauer Arts & Activities Center in Hartford, the board elected town of Polk resident Andrew Gumm and Milwaukee resident Della Wells to join them in board governance. “We are delighted to welcome these two new board members,” said Dale Kent, Board president. “They reflect both our ties to the Washington County area and our appeal to the entire state.”

Gumm has worked for We-Energies for 36 years and is currently employed as Manager of Project Siting and Approvals – Corporately. Born and raised in Washington County, Andy is very involved with both West Bend and Washington County Economic Development associations. Throughout his career, he has held many leadership positions on both non profit and for profit boards. Currently, Andy serves on the Threshold Board, the West Bend Savings Bank Board and the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust. A West Bend Rotary member since 1988, Andy received the Paul Harris Award this year. Wells is a gifted mixed media artist who had a solo exhibition in MWA’s One from Wisconsin gallery in January 2007. Represented by the Peltz Gallery in Milwaukee, Della is very involved in art education and is president of the African American Artists Beginning to Educate Americans about African American Art (ABEA). Recent exhibitions include those at Clayton Galleries, Tampa, Florida; Track 16 Gallery, Santa Monica, California; Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon; Gallery Gachet, Vancouver, British Columbia and the Grava Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“Serving on the Board for an organization as dynamic and diverse as the Museum of Wisconsin Art is a challenge our Board members take seriously but enthusiastically,” noted President Kent. “We’re looking forward to the new perspective these two board members will add.”
