Research Information 

Staff members searching the archives The Wisconsin Art Archive at the Museum of Wisconsin Art is the preeminent single source for information on Wisconsin art and artists. The archive contain individual files on over 8000 early Wisconsin artists from the timeframe of approximately 1800 to the present. It also contains files on related Wisconsin art subjects such as art organizations, schools, panorama painters, pre white settlement Native American art, etc. Also available are hundreds of related books some dating back to the 19th century. Approximately 240 audio visual items on both historic and contemporary Wisconsin art and artists are also available.

FRIENDS USE
Free use of archive (Membership benefit)
$15 per hour fee for basic research provided by staff. Contact staff for complex research and analysis provided by MWA

GENERAL PUBLIC AND NON PROFIT USE
$15 per hour research fee for use of archive materials
$20 per hour for basic research provided by MWA staff
Fee varies for more complex research and analysis

EDUCATIONAL USE
Free use of archive for high school and full-time college students

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For email and telephone requests credit card payment must be made in advance of transmitting research results.

One hour minimum will be charged, billing will be by the ½ hour thereafter. Photocopies and fax are .10 per page.

Contact archive staff for photographic reproduction and publication fees.
Duplicate Wisconsin audio visual items can be checked out for any five day period for $5 charged to a credit card. Late fees at $1 per day and lost video tape fees of $15 will be charged to the credit card account.

Audio visual items without duplicates must be viewed at the museum, the same fee will be charged. Members of the museum are exempt from these fees. (Membership benefit)

The Museum of Wisconsin Art accepts tax-deductible contributions to support the archive but no services or goods can be offered in exchange. To learn more about supporting the archive contact any member of the museum staff.
